Global Commercial¶
What this is¶
An organisation-wide view of your commercial position across every project you can access: company cash position, deadlines at risk, work awaiting action, and a per-project roll-up. It answers "how healthy is our commercial position, and what needs attention across all projects," rather than the detail of any single project.
Global Commercial is read-only. It monitors and prioritises; it does not replace project-level commercial work. You cannot create or edit a payment application, certify, issue a notice, or edit a variation from this page. Every actionable item links directly to its project record.
Who can use it¶
Client users see the commercial position across their own organisation's projects. Super Admin and Admin see the same monitoring view (following the same access rules as Reports).
Where to find it¶
Select Commercial from the main sidebar (outside of any project).
What you will see¶
- Company Cash Position: Certified to Date, Paid to Date, Outstanding, and Retention Held, totalled across all your accessible projects. If your organisation has projects in more than one currency, you will see one complete block per currency rather than a single combined figure. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.
- Deadlines at Risk: Payment Notice deadlines, Pay Less Notice deadlines, and Final Dates for Payment across all projects, grouped as Overdue, Due Today, Due Soon (within 7 days), and Upcoming. Each item links straight to the payment application it belongs to.
- Awaiting Action: payment applications awaiting submission, awaiting certification, or certified but unpaid; variations awaiting valuation or awaiting a decision. Only work that needs attention is shown, not a full list of every record.
- Per-Project Commercial Position: one row per project, with contract value, certified, paid, outstanding, retention, pending/approved variation value, and a count of items requiring attention. Select a row to open that project's Commercial area.
How totals are calculated¶
Global Commercial uses the same certified/paid/retention/variation calculations as Reports, so the figures on both pages are always consistent with each other, because they are computed by the same underlying logic rather than calculated separately.
