H&S Inspections

What this is

H&S Inspections records health & safety inspections and checks carried out on a project — a record that is deliberately separate from QA Reports (quality inspections) and from the Contract Risk Register, even though all three involve "inspecting" something.

Who can use it

Any authenticated user with access to the project — including the Client role, not just Admin/Super Admin — can record H&S inspections.

Where to find it

Project → Health & Safety → H&S Inspections.

What you can record

  • Inspection date
  • Inspection type (free text — e.g. General H&S Inspection, Housekeeping Inspection, Access and Egress Inspection, Working at Height Inspection)
  • Inspected by (free text — see below)
  • Outcome — Satisfactory or Issues Found
  • Status — Open or Closed
  • Findings
  • Actions (follow-up required)
  • Evidence — inspection photographs or similar

Outcome and status are independent

Outcome describes what the inspection found. Status describes whether the record's own follow-up is still open. These are two separate facts, always shown and tracked separately:

  • An inspection can find issues and still be marked Closed once the follow-up has been dealt with.
  • An inspection can be Satisfactory and remain Open pending sign-off.

SureSign never derives one from the other, and a Satisfactory outcome on one inspection is never presented as a statement about the whole site's overall compliance — it describes only that specific inspection.

Inspected by

The person who carried out the inspection is recorded as free text, not tied to a SureSign user account — a real inspector may be an external H&S consultant, principal contractor personnel, a safety adviser, or another competent person who doesn't have (and doesn't need) a SureSign login.

What this is not

H&S Inspections is not QA Reports, and is not the Contract Risk Register — those remain separate modules with their own separate records.

Friday Packs

H&S Inspections feeds the Friday Pack's H&S Inspections section automatically — every inspection recorded within a Friday Pack's Monday to Friday reporting week appears there, with outcome and status shown separately. See Friday Packs.
