Creating an RFI¶
Who can do this¶
Any authenticated user with access to the project — including the Client role, not just Admin/Super Admin.
How to create an RFI¶
- Select New RFI.
- Enter the Subject and your question/description.
- Choose a Priority (Urgent, High, Normal, Low).
- Enter the Raised Date and a Response Required By date.
- Note whether there is a Programme Impact or Cost Impact.
- Save.
What happens after you save¶
The RFI appears in the project's RFI register with status Open, and its response-due date appears on the project Calendar.
Note
Assigning an RFI to a specific person is not currently a reliable feature in the interface — treat the response-due date and priority as the main way to track ownership until this is available.
Drawing Locations¶
An RFI may also be created directly from a location on a Drawing — select Create Record → Create RFI from that location's marker. The drawing link is recorded automatically; RFI has no location/area field of its own, so nothing is added to the Subject or description.
If an RFI has been linked to a location on a Drawing (whether created this way or linked to an existing RFI afterward), a Drawing Locations section on the RFI shows every drawing location it's linked from, with an Open Drawing action that jumps straight to the correct drawing, revision, and page.
