Client

Who this is for

Client is the role for day-to-day project users within a single organisation: contract administrators, quantity surveyors, project managers, and commercial team members. Despite the name, "Client" in SureSign means "a user scoped to one organisation" — it is the standard role for most people using SureSign inside a construction company, not only for an external client party.

What Client accounts can see

Only projects and records belonging to their own organisation. Opening a project or record that belongs to a different organisation always fails, with the same "not found" style page whether or not the record actually exists elsewhere.

What Client accounts can do

In the interface, Client accounts typically see a read-only view of most operational modules: contracts, RFIs, variations, payment applications, documents, and reports. Create, edit, and delete controls are hidden for most records.

Note

This is enforced by what the interface shows you, not by every possible action being individually blocked. In practice, Client users should expect to view records, add comments or supporting information where a form is explicitly presented to them, and rely on their organisation's administrator to create and progress formal records such as contracts, variations, and payment applications.

What Client accounts cannot see or do

  • Cannot access platform administration screens.
  • Cannot see the notification bell in the current interface — check a project's Overview activity feed instead.
  • Cannot invite or manage other users.

What happens if a Client tries to open something they cannot access

SureSign shows a generic "not found" page. It does not reveal whether the project or record exists elsewhere. If you believe you should have access to something, contact your organisation's administrator.
