Changing a Temporary Password¶
What this is¶
When a Super Admin sets a temporary password for you or forces a password reset on your account, SureSign requires you to set a new password before you can use anything else in the platform.
Who this applies to¶
Any user whose account has been marked by a Super Admin as needing a password change. This is not something you switch on yourself; it is set on your account by an administrator.
This is different from accepting an invitation
If you were invited to SureSign, you chose your own password when you accepted the invitation email, so you will not see this screen the first time you sign in. This screen only appears if an administrator later sets a temporary password for you or forces a password reset.
What you will see¶
Instead of your normal dashboard or project workspace, SureSign shows a Change your password screen. You cannot navigate anywhere else in SureSign until you either complete this step or sign out.
How to change your password¶
- Enter a new password.
- Confirm the new password.
- Select Update password.
Once your password is updated, you are taken into SureSign as normal.
You cannot skip this step
There is no "remind me later" option. The only alternative to changing your password is Sign out instead, which returns you to the sign-in screen without changing anything.
Password requirements
Your new password must be at least 8 characters and include a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers, and symbols.
If an administrator gave you a one-time password¶
If a Super Admin used Set Temporary Password on your account, they will have given you a specific password to sign in with. Use that password to sign in, then follow the steps above to set your own password.
